Top Activities at Clearwater Beach

Day trip to the beach! Clearwater Beach is one of my favorite places that I have been to. With palm trees lining every road, beautiful white sand beaches, and aqua blue water, the area has a very luxurious feel to it. And the area has so much more to offer than just the beautiful beach.

  • Enjoy the soft sand and relax on the beach

  • Get a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants along the strip (I personally recommend the original Hooters)

  • Go shopping at the many eclectic gift shops in the area to grab yourself a souvenir

  • Enjoy family activities, such as mini-golf, or pirate ship cruises

We were lucky that the weather was in our favor the day we visited. Not too hot and not too cold. I'm sure the locals would disagree, but us New Englanders appreciate any bit of warmth we can get. Enjoying the sun and the sand, we relaxed on the beach for a good chunk of the day!

We took a walk down Pier 60 to see the entire city and the ocean, a view that is absolutely stunning, both day and night.

Along the strip, there are so many shops to pop in and out of. We visited so many gift shops in search of quirky fun gifts to bring back home to friends and family, and souvenirs to commemorate our travels.

Although there are many restaurants along Clearwater Beach to try out, we had to go to the one and only Hooters. This location is actually the original Hooters restaurant, which made the experience even more fun. My friend had never been, so it was a bit of initiation into the Hooters experience. Needless to say, the food was phenomenal, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere and location of the restaurant is just perfect. It all makes for a great experience!

We spent some time walking along the strip, checking out more stores, and just enjoying the beautiful weather and views. We came across a mini-golf course and couldn't resist, so we hopped on in and played on the terrible mini-golf course while creating our own fun and having a great time. There was nearly no one there, so we were able to go with the flow, and even put on some tunes to dance to. Regardless of how shitty the course was, I managed to play the best game of mini-golf I ever have in my life, finishing with 4 hole-in-ones! I was psyched. My friend, not so much.

As you finish the course, there is a wooden swing-bench that overlooks the mini-golf course, main street, and even a little bit of the ocean. We sat and watched the sunset as we peacefully swung in the quiet for a while. This alone was worth the money of getting in!

We finished off the night with ice cream from a local shop, and sat by the beach as we enjoyed the remainder of our night.

All in all, Clearwater Beach is loads of fun and stunningly beautiful, and we had a great time visiting!
